It's amazing how the stars align in the most unexpected ways. When Vehd was born, I knew I would not be returning to work full-time. I also knew that I needed to continue to remain involved in education in some meaningful manner. And, for some time now, I have known that I need to transition into working with younger children. All of these have come together for me now!
For the last 3 years, I have been speaking to the director of the school I am connected with to start a younger program. Then, this year, several of us in the school community had children, providing the right setting to initiate discussions on starting a younger program (ages 5-10). As I mulled over what I wanted to do next, it seemed only fitting that I propose to conceptualize, create and start this younger program. My proposal was accepted by the director. So now, I am spending my days dreaming up how progressive education for the 21st century can be offered to 5 years. We hope to start the program in the next 2-3 years. The group has ablog.
